Hey guys, Coach Christina here. This past summer, I was offered the opportunity to test out a new running shoe technology and share my experience.
I’ll be the first to admit I am VERY particular about my running shoes and have been using the same brand and model for 3+ years. So when Mizuno Running reached out to me to test out their new Wave Sky WAVEKNIT 3 shoes, I was a little skeptical and even little nervous to deviate. But I figured, what the heck, I’ll see what all this XPOP Foam Wave stuff is all about!?!
As soon as I pulled them out of the box I could feel how light they are, then once I put them on, I felt this great combination of cushiony (I don’t think that’s an actual word but stay with me here) support but also a nice extra bounce. I felt like I was floating.
My first run in them was about 2 months ago, and initially they felt great. No issues with my feet, Achilles or calves later either (which tends to happen to me when I switch up shoes, which is why I don’t). I took them out again that weekend for some higher miles and I fell even more in love with them!
I’ve been wearing them in conjunction with my other running shoes off and on all summer. Though I was hesitant at first since I’m used to a much more rigid shoe, the Wave Sky’s have actually been working out better than my other footwear. They have held up well during hot summer training and continue to provide me with just the right amount of support, but more so cushion, comfort and a nice little bounce to power through my runs.
I’m super grateful to Mizuno for the opportunity to test these out and share my thoughts. I think I may have found my new favorite shoe. Now excuse me while I go order some additional pairs!
